Laundry Room Remodel
Project: Laundry Room Renovation
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Completion Time: 5 weeks
For this project our team was met with two challenges right from the beginning. The first challenge was creating a design that would prevent the existing plumbing from freezing during the cold months, which made this homeowner's laundry room inoperable. The second challenge was figuring out how to give this small space the functionality it was in dire need for. After composing several designs and examining the infrastructure we were able to solve both challenges.
Our team began by completely demoing the existing floor, exposing the joist to gain access to the plumbing. Our team then re-configured the plumbing utilizing PEX materials and insulated all of the new plumbing. In addition to insulating the new plumbing, our team insulated the entire substructure. Once that was completed we began installing the new subfloor and preparing for the tile installation. Our client wanted to match the existing brick on the fireplace with the new flooring in the laundry room. Our team was able to source a brick material that matched. Prior to laying the new brick flooring our team added the heating element as this floor was going to be completely heated and controlled by its own independent thermostat. Once the flooring was installed our team completed this room with custom-built cubbies.
From the cabinet doors to the overhead storage and every part in between, we built it all piece-by-piece to the exact specifications of the homeowners. Our client was beyond happy with the final product and we were able to make another dream space into a reality!
